Very cool. When we travel, it's often for my wife's research, which takes us to various obscure places and the most fun is finding old ancestral temples. One of the best trips was to Yaoli Village in Anhui, where the old temples were being restored. I was able to see them pre-restoration and watch the methods for reconstructing them. That was several years ago, and now it's very tourist-ified, but still beautiful.
Occasionally, cruising the back roads, we'll stumble on some old temple waiting to be saved. Nowadays, it's rare, but they're still out there.
